Born and raised just outside of New York City, Karson attended Emory University in Atlanta, where she studied Psychology and Theatre Studies and performed in the Atlanta theatre scene. In 2003, a love of performance and teaching brought Karson 12 miles west of New York City, to the Montclair Kimberley Academy, where she would teach high school theatre, dance, and yoga for five years. In 2008, Karson took a huge leap (pun intended), and moved across the country to San Diego to pursue her love of live performance. Since her arrival to Southern California, Karson has had the privilege of performing with San Diego Repertory Theatre, ion theatre, Playwrights Project, Cygnet Theatre, Diversionary Theatre, VoxNova Theatre Company, New Village Arts, Moxie Theatre, North Coast Repertory Theatre, and Moonlight Amphitheatre. Karson is also a member of ION Theatre Company.
In addition to performing, Karson is an Ambassador for lululemon athletica & Manduka, and owns Namaste Yoga Center in Ocean Beach with her husband, Mitch. She is also the owner of HAPPY-U and head writer for the HAPPY-U Bloggity Blog.
She and Mitch live in Ocean Beach with their dog, Sophie (aka the Furry Happiness Guru), and are expecting their first child in early July.
